The Corner of Drummond Street and Pleasance

Police Box beneath the Flodden Wall

This is one of several former Police Boxes still to be found around the streets of Edinburgh.  It can be found beneath the Flodden Wall on the corner of Drummond Street and Pleasance in Edinburgh's Old Town.

The street leading up the hill in the distance in this photo is St Mary's Street.  The shops at the foot of St Mary's Street are in Holyrood Road.

Decoration

I first saw this box decorated on September 29, 2010.  It had been blue when I walked past it in August 2010.  I don't know whether the decoration has been authorised or not.  If not, it may have returned to blue next time I pass it!

This was the box used by Malcolm Irving during the Edinburgh Festival in August 2010 to publicise the launch of his book and photos of Edinburgh Police Boxes.

The lights around the top of the decorated box above were on the box at the time of Malcolm's Exhibition.

This  photo of the box was taken in 2008.
