Boswell's Garden

Boswell's Garden is an 18th century garden, situated behind the buildings on the south side of Chessel's Court.  James Boswell spent half of his married life here.  Later, the garden became a play area for St Saviour's Child-Garden nursery school.

There is a shed in the south-west corner of the garden.  It  was formerly the nursery school's playhouse.

The garden is now in private ownership and is not normally open to the public, but it was included amongst the places that were opened for one  day for Edinburgh Parks & Gardens Open Day on May 6, 2006.
