Princes Street

The View

This view looks to the east along Princes Street.  The buildings in the distance in the centre of this picture are:

-  Nelson Monument on Calton Hill

-  Clock Tower of the North British Hotel (now Balmoral Hotel)

-  Sir Walter Scott Monument

The building on the right of the picture is the Royal Scottish Academy (now part of the National Galleries of Scotland) surmounted by a seated Queen Victoria, looking to the north up Hanover Street.

There is a charabanc, heading to the west along Princes Street.  It is passing behind a queue at one of the tram stops in this picture.

Date?

Can you suggest when this photo might have been taken?  Is it likely to have been around the 1920s?
