This view looks along Princes Street from the centre of the street in front of the National Galleries. Might it have been taken from the top deck of a tram? The view looks towards: - the Scott Monument, - the North British Hotel and - the monuments on Calton Hill. |

The mail tended to be quick and reliable in the early 20th century, with several deliveries per day, but in this case the senders left it late to send their Christmas message written on the front of the card. It is postmarked 3.30pm on 25 December 1903. |
