Here is a busy scene at Imperial Dock, Leith. The railway tracks that ran throughout the docks can be seen running beside the harbour. Does anybody recognise the shipping? This postcard has was posted from Edinburgh to Newcastle-on-Tyne in June 1914, with the message "Smooth sea all the way." I have two postcards with this style of back. They were posted in 1913 and 1914. The words Caledonia Series appear twice on the card, once down the centre of the back and once in small print below the shield. |
