Julian Bukits believes that this man is NOT JG Tunny

Julian explained, after examining a better quality image of this photo:

"The man in the photo may be physically deformed.

  -  He is too young to be JGT.
  -  His lips are too feminine.
  -  Hair parting on wrong side.

Maybe the photo is of Elizabeth Tunny's husband Mr Cunningham.  What age was he when the couple married and set off for America?"

After viewing this and other cartes de visite,

A photogrpah by James Good Tunny, probably of one of the members of his family ©

Sheldon Cunningham added:

"This is also NOT Colin Cameron, husband of James's sister, Elizabeth Tunny.

And it is NOT Robert Pennycook husband of James's sister Helen Tunny.

The reason is that both couples were in the USA in the 1850 census, and this picture, we think, was made  from 1852-1859.

If this carte de visite below is John Tunny, as we speculate,

A photogrpah by James Good Tunny, probably of one of the members of his family ©

then, this ambrotype might be of James's younger brother Andrew Tunny, b.1827.

However, Andrew was not in the 1851 census with brothers James and John and father Neil at 161 Causewayside in Edinburgh. (I have not found him in the 1851 census.)"
