"This photo was taken in Newhaven around 1957.  In fact, it  was the members of Hawthornvale Ladies' whist drive weekend trip to Chester.

The reason I know this is because my grandmother and grandfather are in the photo, and the other people in the picture are all well known to me and my family.  All of them were family friends.  My grandparents were the Olivers who stayed at No 30, Hawthornvale, Newhaven

The photo brings back very happy memories of people and times gone by"
