Here is a view of Edinburgh Castle from the south - from the western end of the Grassmarket. Johnston Terrace runs across the picture behind the wall above the grassy slope. The recently-built steps connecting Johnston Terrace to the Grassmarket at the right-hand side of the picture are being rebuilt. The steps, as first built, were declared unsafe and never used. An open-top bus on a vintage tour of Edinburgh is approaching from Kings Stables Road. |
