Location Bristo Parish Church is in Buckingham Terrace, off Queensferry Road. I took this photograph, in snowy conditions, from the front seat on the top deck of a No.19 bus, as it was about to turn left out of Orchard Brae and into Queensferry Road. Bristo Church has been based in this building since it opened in 1935. |

The Church The Church is briefly described in the book 'The Buildings of Scotland - Edinburgh' (John Gifford et al.) Here is an extract from the description. "Large and bold in a thrifty Scandinavian-cum-Dutch-Colonial style (harled walls enriched with stone carving) by William Paterson of Oldrieve, Bell & Paterson, 1932-35." |
