Princes Street Gardens and Bank of Scotland

The view above looks to the across East Princes Street Gardens, from a point beside the Scott Monument.   This part of the gardens has been used in recent years as an open-air ice skating rink.

The photograph above was taken during the Edinburgh Festival in August 2003.  On the grass is a group with their musical instruments, having a picnic.
